Screening Requirements as per Regulation Division 7:2
The port facility operatorion which a cleared zone is established must ensure that:
1. Persons boarding a security regulated passenger ship;
2. Have been screened in preparation to boarding and cleared at the time they board
the ship; or
3. Are screened immediately after they board the ship
The same applies for all items of baggage.
Persons not needing screening:
Under the regulations certain classes of people are not required to be screened at the
present time. These groups are not required to be screened and cleared before entering or remaining in
a cleared zone:
1. A member of the ships crew;
2. A Company Security Officer (CSO), Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) and Port
Security Officer (PSO) whilst on duty;
3. Screening Equipment:
Regulation 7:30 indicates does not specify what equipment
has to be used in all circumstances, but that it simply
complies with the following requirements:
The equipment must be capable of detecting
weapons and prohibited items on persons or in
baggage;
It may comprise of a walk-through metal detector,
